Retezat Tourism Association

The purpose of the association is to develop and promote the sustainable tourism in Retezat National Park and the entire county of Hațeg area, in order to bring economic benefits to the area and contribute to the conservation and protection of natural, historical, cultural and traditional values.

The objectives of the association, provided in the same document that underlies the functioning of our organization, are the following:

  1. a) Fulfilling the role of Destination’s Management Organisation (DMO) at local and regional level (Țara Hațegului – Retezat);
  2. b) Active support for the Pan Parks concept implementation in the Retezat National Park area to develop the tourism in the area;
  3. c) The implementation of the sustainable tourism strategy (STS) in order to improve the collaboration and mutual help of the members and actors involved in tourism activities in the area of ​​Retezat National Park and Hațeg county;
  4. d) Promoting the Retezat National Park area and Hațeg county through specific tourist packages, adapted to different types of tourists / market segments;
  5. e) The elaboration of the certification standard for the associated partners, the implementation and the maintenance of the standard;
  6. f) The implementation of the plans and strategy for the development of the tourist activity in the area of ​​interest;
  7. g) Ensuring the staff training for the specific tourism activities;
  8. h) The preparation of pilot programs and organising trainings and improvement courses for the staff involved in tourism activities (eg travel guide, boarding house administrator, etc.).

In order to achieve the objectives listed above, the association may fulfill the following:

  1. Coordination of the public and private sector in the field of tourism at the destination level for achieving a sustainable management;
  2. Development planning at the destination level, by implementing the tourism development strategy of the area and coordinating the implementation actions;
  3. Support for the training of human resources in tourism and monitoring of the quality standards at the destination level;
  4. Creating and coordinating the destination marketing policy;
  5. Ensuring the support in the coordination and management of the interventions in the tourist infrastructure, in order to ensure the “quality of the experience” for the visitors;
  6. Support for event coordination, development and management;
  7. Support for the development and management of the attractions;
  8. Coordination of tourist information centers from the territory of the destination;
  9. Advice in the field of business development in tourism;
  10. Monitoring the development of tourism in the destination;
  11. Creating a planning and expression framework for the tourism involved structures;
  12. Development, promotion and administration of ecotourism destinations;
  13. Elaboration, implementation, monitoring and adaptation to the socio-economic situation of the area, of the ecotourism development strategy in the Țara Hațegului – Retezat area;
  14. Increasing the visibility and prestige of the area and of the Ecotourism Destination Țara Hațegului – Retezat, by creating a common tourist brand and an assumed visual identity;
  15. Coordinating the activity of promoting ecotourism, including through publishing appropriate advertising materials that are complementary to individual promotion (participation in tourism fairs, promotional caravans, etc.);
  16. Supporting public and private institutions in the field of tourism;
  17. Increasing the quality of tourism services, through promoting and encouraging practices, programs and projects from the field of sustainable tourism;
  18. Production and distribution of tourism promotion and marketing products;
  19. Compilation of statistics and a database for observing the tourist activity;
  20. Proposing measures and investments for the development of sustainable tourism in Ţara Hațegului – Retezat and the area of ​​influence;
  21. Identification of financial resources or financing programs for the proposal or implementation of projects for the development of sustainable tourism;
  22. Attracting investments in the local tourism;
  23. Co-optating and affiliation to domestic and international bodies, for the promotion of tourist opportunities in Ţara Hațegului – Retezat and the area of ​​influence;
  24. Editing guides, maps, monographs and any other tourist promotion works; creation of advertising, audio-video and multimedia materials, websites and mobile applications;
  25. Promoting measures for the protection, conservation and maintenance of the environment, cultural, historical and tourist heritage of the area;
  26. Organizing and participating in events, fairs, conferences, festivals as well as the possibility of carrying out itinerant commercial activities and / or outside of the own headquarters / work points, in order to promote tourism in Ţara Hațegului – Retezat and the area of ​​influence;
  27. Encourage cooperation between members of the association, as well as between members and third parties in the tourism industry;
  28. Launching projects and participating in projects launched with other organizations in the country or abroad;
  29. Development of specific instruments to participate in programs with international, European, governmental, local, public and / or private funding in the components of regional cohesion, regional and rural development, conversion and reconversion of the workforce;
  30. Any other initiatives that lead to the development of sustainable tourism in Ţara Hațegului – Retezat and the area of ​​influence.
