Țara Hațegului – Retezat ecotourism destination development programme is financially supported by the Romanian-American Foundation and the Environmental Partnership Foundation.
Retezat Tourism Association, set up in 2007, is the management unit whose main aim is to develop and promote the Țara Hațegului – Retezat ecotourism destination. This is the only ecotourism destination that has on its territory two sites of international importance, part of the UNESCO world heritage: Retezat Biosphere Reserve, part of Retezat National Park, and the Țara Hațegului Dinosaur Geopark.
